Apologise & Promise
This song comes from the heart, from inside. It is not about somebody or for somebody. It’s my way of apologizing for things I’ve done and promising to do better.
I composed the song in 2009 as part of my jazz self-education. First it was a ballad head and then some be-bop improvisation. After that it was a funk coda.
We played the song many times with different bands. For the time being, we decided to keep the opening theme and then create a coda.
The arrangement of this song is a result of my experiences with all the guys with whom I played it, as well as of the hard work of my friend, Alexander Gloshkin.
I still hope to record the original version, but for now I like this beautiful arrangement, which inspires me every time I listen to it.
